A Personal Watercraft (PWC) can be single-seater machines or can take two or three people. They are fast and exciting, but need to be handled with care. Whether you just want to have a go on holiday or buy your own machine, our Personal Watercraft course will teach you how to get the best from it.
The Personal watercraft proficiency course is particularly popular with super-yacht crew or those seeking work in the super-yacht industry.
If you want to work on a super yacht the RYA level 2 certification is very often compulsory. Adding the RYA PWC certificate to your c.v. is a huge advantage.
The RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency course will teach you how to use a PWC safely and with confidence. The course is for first-time and experienced riders alike.
The one-day course and assessment follows the official RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency course training syllabus. Riding a PWC safely means much more than being able to ride it in the direction you want to go. This training covers many areas so you will be competent in control of the craft.
To use your PWC abroad you now require the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). For some foreigners it is possible to apply for an ICC after successfully obtaining the RYA PWC course and the Cevni test. It depends on your nationality whether the RYA can issue an ICC.
CEVNI stands for “Code Europeen des Voies de la Navigation Interieure.
The costs for the RYA PWC course (1 day) are € 450, – p.p.
The optional Cevni Test costs € 75,- p.p. This online test is mandatory for some nationals in order to obtain their ICC. (International Certificate of Competence). Check the RYA list of nationals to see if your country is on the list.
